Victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault, their family, and friends may receive crisis intervention services, counseling, shelter, information and referrals for a variety of social services 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days-a-year. Trained staff and volunteers are available to provide safe solutions during a crisis.
Emergency Safe Shelter
Brighter Tomorrows staffs two emergency safe shelters in Grand Prairie and Irving at undisclosed locations. Both locations are gated and equipped with security cameras. Our emergency safe shelters can house up to a total of 72 residents (women, children, and men). Clients and their children receive meals, clothing, crisis counseling, advocacy and safety planning assistance.
Transitional Housing Program
The purpose of the program is to provide a safe apartment for clients. While in the program, clients receive life skills training, counseling (as required) and may be eligible for additional training resources. Upon employment, the client is encouraged to establish a savings account that will help them achieve independence upon graduation.
Program stay is up to 24 months. During that time clients rent and utilities are paid by the agency.
Resource & Counseling Services
Counseling services and crisis intervention services are available to shelter and non-shelter clients. Counselors are available Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm, during regular business hours. Evening appointments upon request.
The Brighter Tomorrows counseling team provides adult/child individual counseling, group counseling, parenting skills classes, and CPS classes for anyone with an open CPS case.
Educational Community Presentations
Our programs are taught by top facilitators in the violence prevention industry who know kids, teens and young adults and understand their world. In addition, our programs meet the required Texas Education standards, so your programming and curriculum schedule do not suffer by allowing us to bring a violence prevention program into your school. We are proud of the impact our programs have made in the lives of students and the safety of our community and schools.
