Your group can adopt a room at one of our two emergency safe shelters! You provide items such as linens, wall decor, pillows, paint, etc.
Your group can even play an active role in putting it all together by painting, decorating, installing blinds, etc.

Ways to Serve
Volunteers work in one of our offices assisting with clerical work (filing, mail prep, data entry), answering telephones, organizing donations, and assist organize, shred, and archive information etc.
Education Team Assistance:
Volunteers work on our education and outreach team to bring presentations, workshop and general information to a variety of community events and schools.
This is a dynamic position that may include duties from child care to administrative assistance to maintenance. Volunteering in one of our emergency safe shelter, is an excellent way to assist staff with general everyday needs.
Answering the crisis hotline and assist callers with crisis counseling and referral information for victims of family violence. In addition, volunteers assist with light office duties. Minimum commitment of one shift per week (4-8 hrs).
**Up to 40 hours of hotline training may be required depending on experience.
Spend time with the children at one of our emergency safe shelters, Transitional Housing, or Counseling office leading structured activities during adult support group sessions and life skills classes.
Assist store staff in receiving, sorting, tagging and displaying donated goods for sale at one of our thrift store locations
(Grand Prairie or DeSoto). Store hours are 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday-Saturday.
Hold a Supply Drive:
Hold a drive for one of our two emergency safe shelters. Necessary items include paper goods, cleaning supplies, bedding, household items and baby needs.
Let’s build a wonderful support system year-round. Help provide a fresh start for a family that is beginning their new journey with Brighter Tomorrows by adopting a family for 6 months to 1 year. Whether it be movie night, reading a book to the families’ children or redecorating their rooms. It’s the thought that counts! Adopt your new family today.

Calling all businesses, organizations, and sports teams! Help restore, and rehabilitate our playgrounds for our kids! It is our goal to provide an exciting and fun environment for our youth and teens to enjoy.

During volunteer orientation/training you will learn who we are, what we do and how you can partner with us to make a powerful, positive difference.
Domestic Violence 101 - Learn what domestic violence is, forms or types of domestic violence, characteristics of abusers and their tatics. The array of emotions and feelings the abused may feel, who it affects, how it affects the community and state of Texas statistics regarding domestic violence and sexual assault.
Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Boundaries - understand some of the trauma that has affected our clients and how they can succeed and become independent. Boundaries teaches us to provide options, not solutions, for the clients while protecting all parties involved.
Children and Domestic Violence - Learn how family violence affects children.
Shelter Living - Learn the dynamics faced by families moving into a shelter situation and how they can cope.
